The EU's CO2 targets naturally also affect road freight transport and therefore refrigerated transport.

Compared to 2019, the average CO2 emissions of heavy commercial vehicles must be reduced by

• 2030 by 45 %,
• 65% by 2035,
• 90 % by 2040.

Trailers are also included, for which the emissions caused by them must be reduced by 7.5% from 2030 and by 10% for semi-trailers.
