After a successful start in 2022, the IAA TRANSPORTATION will take place for the second time at the Deutsche Messe AG grounds in Hannover from September 17th to 22nd, 2024 (press day on September 16th).

As the leading international platform for logistics, commercial vehicles, and the transport sector, IAA TRANSPORTATION provides a stage for forward-thinking discussions on sustainability, infrastructure, and technology.

Here, manufacturers of commercial vehicles and buses, body and trailer builders, companies from the micromobility sector, cargo bike and small vehicle providers, along with their suppliers, tech companies, service providers, and startups, come together to work towards a sustainable and innovative future. They showcase groundbreaking ideas, innovations, and technologies. Under the theme "People And Goods On The Move," IAA TRANSPORTATION aims to advance climate neutrality in logistics and transportation through innovative transport systems. Following its successful debut in 2022, the second edition will take place from September 17-22, 2024 (Press Day on 16.09) at the Deutsche Messe AG grounds in Hannover.

At the heart of this leading platform for the commercial vehicle, transport, and logistics sectors is the presentation of a wide range of vehicles that represent the future of mobility and sustainable transport solutions—from efficient trucks and trailers to advanced passenger transporters, vans, and cargo bikes. Companies will demonstrate how efficient, environmentally friendly mobility concepts can be realized.

This includes new, innovative battery-electric drives, as well as hydrogen, fuel cell, and renewable or CO2-neutral fuels. Technical innovations and applications such as autonomous driving and artificial intelligence will also play a key role. A central focus will be on infrastructure developments related to the expansion of electric charging, power grid, and hydrogen infrastructure, as well as AI, service, and software solutions and visions for urban logistics.

Throughout the IAA Conference, stakeholders, decision-makers, and industry experts will discuss the sustainable, social, technical, economic, and political aspects of these global transport topics on multiple stages. Speakers will include industry leaders like Arnd Franz (CEO, Mahle), Dr. Stefan Hartung (Chairman of the Board, Robert Bosch GmbH), Carsten Intra (CEO, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles), Kim Kohlmeyer (E-Mobility Manager, Transport & Environment), Olof Persson (CEO, Iveco Group), Dan Priestley (Senior Manager, Semi Truck Engineering, Tesla), Karin Rådström (CEO, Mercedes-Benz Trucks), Peter Schäfer (EVP & CSO Automotive, Infineon Technologies), Sara Schiffer (General Manager, hylane), and Andreas Schmitz (CEO, Schmitz Cargobull).

As part of the IAA Experience, trade visitors can get up close with emissions-free vehicle innovations on specially secured routes and in public spaces. The event will also feature a cargo bike course where visitors can test the latest models. The program will be complemented by startup and AI specials showcasing solutions for young companies to thrive in the market. On the weekend, a special experience for families and drivers will take place, allowing visitors to explore exciting trucks—from vintage models and racing trucks to US trucks—up close and even ride along!
