For the first time, Kia will be participating in the IAA TRANSPORTATION event, where it will present various concept studies from its future PBV (Purpose-Built Vehicle) lineup in a European debut. With this lineup, Kia aims to enter the light commercial vehicle market. The company is redefining the commonly used PBV acronym as “Platform Beyond Vehicle,” representing a platform that extends beyond the vehicle itself. At their booth, Kia will showcase four concepts: the PV5 High Roof Concept, People Mover Concept, 3D Concept, and PV7 Concept. All of these are built on a single electric platform, which is designed to adapt to different mobility needs and is expected to transform logistics and transportation.

Stellantis’ commercial vehicle division, Pro One, is showcasing several new models at IAA TRANSPORTATION, including the Opel Combo Electric, Citroën E-Berlingo Crew Van, Peugeot e-Expert Fridge with EPTO, and Fiat Professional E-Ducato Cargo Box. A key highlight is the world premiere of the Opel Movano Hydrogen, featuring hydrogen fuel cell technology. Additionally, Stellantis Pro One will present its strategy for the conversion and expansion of van models, developed in collaboration with over 450 certified partners worldwide. The range of models will include everything from tippers to cargo-optimized vans and motorhomes.

At IAA TRANSPORTATION, BPW will introduce an innovative retrofit solution that integrates telematics, connectivity, and AI features into existing trailers. This modular telematics system will enable real-time monitoring of vehicle and cargo data. Additionally, the solution will offer AI-driven functions designed to optimize fleet efficiency and safety. BPW's subsidiary, HESTAL, will also present a solution aimed at improving trailer aerodynamics: the HESTAL FlowMaster. The FlowMaster is an aerodynamic system that significantly reduces trailer drag, thereby lowering fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The system works by optimizing airflow around the trailer, reducing the energy required to move the vehicle.

Krone is making the most of IAA TRANSPORTATION 2024 by showcasing its latest innovations under the theme “Dimensions in Motion.” Visitors will be able to experience these advancements across four key areas: sustainability, digitalization, automation, and electrification. One of the highlights will be the new Box Liner container chassis generation, making its debut at the event. The new Box Liner Aucos, which can be automatically adjusted for all container loads from 20' rear flush to 45' (with special permits), serves as a focal point for the "Automation" theme park. In the "Digitalization" area, the KRONE Smart Assistant will take center stage, now fully capable of supporting the electronic consignment note (eCRM). The theme of "Sustainability" will be showcased on a "Resource Wall," illustrating KRONE's sustainability strategy. Meanwhile, the "Electrification" area will highlight the functionality of the eAxle from the eTrailer. The latest developments surrounding the KRONE eTrailer will also be featured at the neighboring booth of partner company Trailer Dynamics.

Daimler Truck is making a strong statement at IAA TRANSPORTATION by emphasizing the shift to alternative powertrains in road freight. The company will showcase a range of vehicles that utilize alternative drives, including both battery-electric models and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. A key highlight is the eActros, a fully electric truck specifically designed for urban delivery. Additionally, Daimler Truck will present the GenH2 Truck, a hydrogen-powered vehicle developed for long-haul transport. To further advance this initiative, Daimler Truck is launching a new brand, Truck Charge, at the IAA, which will consolidate all existing and future offerings related to e-infrastructure and e-truck charging.

At IAA TRANSPORTATION, Ford Trucks will present a cross-section of its current vehicle lineup, offering a glimpse into the immediate future of freight transport. The booth will feature a battery-electric vehicle from the recently unveiled F-LINE series, equipped with a box body and a 6x2 axle configuration, painted in Digital Aqua Blue. The F-MAX series will be represented by an F-MAX Gen2, an F-MAX Living from Ford Trucks partner Dietrich, and a tractor unit with F-MAX Select trim. Additionally, Ford Trucks will display number 57 of the limited edition F-MAX Select series, which is capped at 400 units, featuring a two-tone paint job and numerous design extras. The tractor product range will be rounded out by a F-LINE 1845 T in satin matte Metal Blue. Also on display will be the F-Line 4145 D with an 8x4 axle configuration and a Meiller tipper body in Squirrel Grey.

At IAA TRANSPORTATION, Continental is introducing its newly developed technology for automated tread depth measurement in commercial vehicle tires. This innovation is designed to enhance road safety while also reducing maintenance costs for fleet operators. The automated tread depth measurement system uses advanced sensors and data processing to monitor tire tread depth in real-time. In addition to this, Continental will showcase other tire technology innovations aimed at reducing rolling resistance, thereby lowering fuel consumption.

Thermo King plans to make the most of IAA TRANSPORTATION by presenting more than 20 different refrigeration solutions. These systems will cater to a wide range of needs, from small delivery vans to large trailers, covering everything from standard cooling to deep freezing for the transport of temperature-sensitive goods. A key highlight will be the introduction of fully electric refrigeration units, which are not only environmentally friendly but also significantly reduce operating costs.

Meiller is also showcasing several new tipping models known for their durability, efficiency, and user-friendliness. A standout at the Meiller booth will be the new three-way tipper, praised for its high load capacity and versatility in various applications. Additionally, Meiller will present innovative trailer solutions that excel with their lightweight construction and optimized driving characteristics.

Hesai Technology is unveiling its latest advancements in autonomous driving technology at IAA TRANSPORTATION. The company will showcase its state-of-the-art LiDAR systems, specifically designed to meet the demands of commercial vehicles and autonomous driving systems. These sensors are capable of creating detailed 3D images of the surrounding environment in real-time, which is essential for developing safe and efficient autonomous driving systems.

At IAA TRANSPORTATION, Sonatus will demonstrate how software-defined vehicles are shaping the future of the automotive industry. Sonatus is focused on developing platforms and tools that allow manufacturers to continuously optimize and customize their vehicles. This technology enables real-time updates to vehicle systems, enhances safety features, and improves overall efficiency. Additionally, the software-defined architecture from Sonatus offers the ability to collect and analyze data from vehicle operations, which can be used to develop new features and services. Among the products on display will be the Sonatus Collector with AWS Cloud Integration, a Software-Defined Component Solution, the Sonatus Updater, and application examples for the Sonatus Automator.

Molead will showcase its new energy commercial vehicle parts and comprehensive solutions at IAA TRANSPORTATION, including seats, charging piles, commercial vehicle chassis power systems, HVAC systems, and electric connection system solutions. Molead, as a provider of HVAC system solutions, will exhibit the following innovations: 1. Battery thermal management with multiple operating modes and intelligent diagnostic systems. 2. Natural CO2 refrigerant-based bus air conditioning, capable of functioning within an ambient temperature range from -30°C to 40°C. Equipped with monitoring and predictive operation and maintenance capabilities, the system offers automatic defrosting function. At temperatures as low as -10°C, it achieves approximately a 30% increase in heating efficiency compared to R410a air conditioning units—showcasing enhanced intelligence, effectiveness, and environmental adaptability. Molead has provided pure electric air conditioning services to prominent bus manufacturers such as Yutong, Temsa, and MCV—with sales exceeding over 100,000 units. 3. Truck refrigeration units. 4. Pure electric heat pump units that are highly integrated, incredibly lightweight, and feature intelligent control mechanisms along with 16 combined working modes, enabling comprehensive vehicle thermal system management while achieving up to a remarkable 10% energy savings. The system has 53 built-in fault warning and protection functions, and its products have passed 136 safety function tests, making it safer. 5. A/C system accessories, such as defroster and electric heater.Additionally, Molead will showcase the key parts of the chassis power system. This includes: 6. Motor, with a 15% weight reduction, power density of 3.14KW/KG, maximum efficiency of 97.5%, supporting 5% vehicle energy consumption reduction. It can be soaked in 2 m deep water for 72 hours without water ingression, meeting the highest industry standards for motor protection. 7. Electric control, highly integrates functions such as drive motor controller, steering controller, air compressor controller, DC/DC module, high-voltage distribution module, charging, insulation detection, and power distribution for upper-structure, reducing the vehicle’s high voltage connection points by more than 53%. With high efficiency, the area of efficiency over 90% accounts for 92%. It also includes 24-hour status monitoring, supports remote upgrades, fault query and reminder functions for intelligent control. 8. Electric drive axle, reduces the overall space share by more than 25% compared to a direct drive structure while achieving a weight reduction of 30.3%. With a maximum system efficiency exceeding 92%, it reduces the vehicle’s energy consumption by 3%-5%.In the comprehensive electric connection system solution for new energy vehicles, it can provide 9. high voltage wiring harness assemblies and high voltage connectors for motor controllers, all-in-one controllers, PDUs of new energy vehicles, and European standard and China’s standard charging interfaces. It can conduct a 60,000-kilometer vehicle test in batches to ensure the stability, reliability and durability of the products.In addition to the full range of solutions, Molead also offers products such as seats and charging piles. 10. Driver’s seat, electric ten-way adjustment, suitable for left and right hand models with standard lumbar support, ventilation, heating and massage functions. 11. This digital tool allows users to configure vehicles based on their individual requirements, considering a wide range of options and specifications.

A leading provider of hydraulic solutions for commercial vehicles, Hyva will present its latest tipping and lifting systems designed for heavy-duty transport tasks. A highlight will be the introduction of new hydraulic tipping devices known for their robustness and efficiency.

Talson, a leading manufacturer of trailers, will display its latest equipment options for aluminum box trailers at IAA TRANSPORTATION. The new features include improved insulation materials for better temperature control and innovative cargo securing systems to enhance the safety of transported goods.

Bott will showcase its latest solutions for intelligent load securing and modular vehicle equipment. A key highlight will be the new modular system, which allows companies to customize their vehicles to meet specific needs.

SAG Group will introduce its new cryogenic tank system at the event. This system is designed to safely store liquid hydrogen at extremely low temperatures.

Kumho will present its latest developments in commercial vehicle tires at IAA TRANSPORTATION. The new high-performance tires are specifically designed to meet the demands of modern commercial vehicles, offering improved mileage and greater efficiency. These tires are engineered to minimize rolling resistance, leading to reduced fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions.

SpanSet will introduce a new high-strength lashing strap system, known for its durability and ease of use. This system is designed to ensure secure cargo fastening even under extreme conditions. Additionally, SpanSet will showcase a new monitoring system that provides real-time information on cargo status and strap tension.

At its booth, JOST Werke AG will focus on the development of intelligent systems designed to make the operation of commercial vehicles more efficient and safer. A key highlight will be the introduction of a new automatic coupling system that simplifies and speeds up trailer changes.

Kinnegrip, a renowned manufacturer of stakes and load securing systems, will use IAA TRANSPORTATION to present its expanded stake program. These stakes are essential components for securing loads, especially in open-bed and timber transports. The new stakes from Kinnegrip are characterized by their robust construction and high flexibility, making them suitable for various load types and sizes.

Kress will introduce its new aerodynamic cooler box bodies, specifically designed for use in cold chain logistics.
