KEYOU goes Heavy Duty

Munich hydrogen expert presents 40-ton truck with hydrogen engine for the first time at IAA Transportation

The Hydrogen Engine - Technology of the Future
A robust engine, long ranges with short refueling times, and a familiar driving experience: the hydrogen engine is gaining ground in the commercial vehicle segment for good reason. KEYOU has been driving this transformation since 2015 by developing innovative hydrogen technologies. These make it possible to cost-effectively convert conventional engines into zero-emission hydrogen engines without major modifications. In order to enable logistics companies and other fleet operators to benefit from the many advantages of this technology in long-distance transportation, KEYOU is currently focusing on the further development and adaptation of its KEYOU-inside system for the heavy-duty segment, especially for tractor units and 40-ton trucks.

World premiere at the IAA: 40-ton truck with KEYOU-inside hydrogen engine
At this year's IAA, KEYOU will present two 40-ton trucks for the first time in Hall 12, Booth C40 on 400 square meters, including a Volvo semi-trailer truck with a 13-liter engine, which KEYOU developed together with the Swedes as part of the HyCET project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport (BMDV). Visitors to the KEYOU stand can also look forward to an innovative hydrogen storage technology and a universal H2 service unit for workshops, which KEYOU has developed together with its new partner and lead investor DILO and which will be presented for the first time at the IAA.

All-around carefree with KEYOU's "H2 Mobility as a Service" (H2MaaS) offer
KEYOU wants to make the transition to the new drive technology as easy, predictable and risk-free as possible for its customers. The Munich-based company is therefore not only focusing on the conversion of vehicles, but is also offering its technology as part of an all-around carefree mobility solution for fleet operators. In addition to the toll-free vehicle with a zero-emission hydrogen engine, this includes a comprehensive service and maintenance package, comprehensive insurance coverage - KEYOU relies on HDI Global as a strong partner - and, if required, the fuel itself. Customers pay an agreed price per kilometer based on annual mileage, which includes all services. The aim is to ensure that customers receive everything they need for the smooth operation of their hydrogen vehicle from a single source.
